Marco Cortesi
Founder of Moai.ch, geographer and photographer
Graduated in Human Geography at the University of Milano (Italy), he has always been passionate about travel and cultures, having visited over 70 countries across 5 continents. Among his greatest passions is, of course, photography. In 2012, thanks to his connections in the photography world, he founded the LuganoPhotoDays festival, bringing internationally recognized photographers to Lugano (Switzerland), including the Swiss master René Burri. When not traveling, he hosts travelers through the Couchsurfing community. He also enjoys hiking and scuba diving. In 2024, he published the book Whiteness in Černobyl.

Didier Ruef
Photojournalist
Born in 1961 in Geneva, Switzerland. After graduating in Political Economy at the University of Geneva, he studied photojournalism at the International Center of Photography in New York. His wide-ranging reportages focus on humans within their living environments, with particular attention to ecological issues. His photos and reportages have been published in numerous Swiss and international newspapers and magazines. Didier Ruef has published seven books: in 1998 Paysans de nos montagnes, Bauern am, Vita di montagna; in 2005, Afrique Noire; in 2011, Recycle; in 2012, Bestiarium; in 2018, Homo Helveticus; and in 2020 and 2021.
