F.A.Q.

Below you can find the answers to the most frequently asked questions about our photo trips and workshops.

If you don’t find the answer to your question or still have doubts, don’t worry, you can contact us.

Can only photographers travel with you?
Short answer: No.
Our trips are open to everyone! Photography is just an “excuse” to choose special destinations and to spend more time exploring each place. You don’t need to be a photographer to join us: if you love traveling, you’re more than welcome. For those who wish, we’re happy to provide photography tips (even for smartphone users), but the main focus is to enjoy unique and engaging experiences. If you’re a partner of someone attending the workshop—or if you simply want to travel with us—don’t worry!
Is it necessary to own a professional camera?
Short answer: No.
Although in many situations photographic equipment (DSLR or mirrorless) is preferable, it is not required to travel with us! You can also bring a compact camera or use your smartphone… or even not take photos at all, you will still be able to visit new places and learn new things.
Will I be able to take photos with my phone?
Short answer: Yes.
The quality of photos taken with smartphones is getting higher and higher; in some situations, it is even easier to shoot with a phone than with a DSLR. Our advice is to use both, but of course no one forbids you from using only your phone.
Is it possible to take photos with a drone?
Short answer: Maybe.
The legislation regarding the use of drones varies in each country and is subject to continuous changes, so please check directly with the competent authorities.
If we are certain that it is allowed for a trip, we will mention it in the program.
Do I need to bring a computer or a tablet?
Short answer: It would be better.
In order to do the editing (viewing and selecting the images) independently and then share them with the group, the use of a personal laptop or a tablet is required.
If you don’t have one or for some reason cannot bring it, contact us and we will find a solution.
How big are the groups?
Short answer: maximum 8.
To improve the quality of the trip and the discussions during the photo reviews, we decided to keep the maximum number of participants low: generally up to 8, sometimes even less. This number is always indicated in the trip details.
I’m traveling alone, do I have to pay the single supplement?
Short answer: No.
Rooms are usually double (except in special cases that will be specified in the programs) and are shared by people of the same gender. This not only helps keep costs lower for solo travelers… but also allows you to make new friends.
Of course, you can request a single room; this must be requested at the time of booking and involves an additional cost. In some cases, it may not be possible to have a single room; if needed, contact us.
I’m traveling as a couple, can I be sure to share the room with the person I want?
Short answer: Yes, almost always.
Contact us before or after booking to let us know the type of room (twin or double) you would like, and we will do our best to meet your request.
In some cases, it may not be possible or it may involve additional costs.
How can I request and pay for a single room?
Short answer: Write to us.
You can now purchase the single supplement directly with the trip; if you have any questions or doubts, contact us.
What are the payment terms and cancellation conditions?
You can find the general conditions before each purchase or by clicking on this link. If you have any questions or doubts, do not hesitate to contact us.
Will there be internet connection?
Short answer: usually yes.
Most of the time there is Wi-Fi in hotels or in other public areas such as cafés and restaurants. Alternatively, you can buy a local SIM card or an eSIM (we recommend Airalo or HolaFly; if you use our links to register, you will receive a discount on your first purchase).
What language is spoken during the trip?
Short answer: In English.
Both the tour leader and the photographer speak English, Italian, and French. The workshop can therefore also be held in other languages (Italian or French during 1 to 1 sessions), but the main language spoken within the group is English. In case of exceptions, this will be clearly indicated in the trip or workshop details.
The local guide, when present, speaks English.
In the case of very small groups, it is possible that two groups (Italian and English) may be combined to make the trip sustainable. In any case, participants will be provided with the service indicated in the trip details (for example, an English-speaking local guide).
What is the average age of the participants?
Short answer: it doesn’t matter!
The average age can vary greatly depending on the type of trip and the destination, but the idea is to keep the groups small, both because it is better for those who want to take photos and because we want to be a group of enthusiasts, not tourists moving from one place to another.
Are international flights included?
Short answer: No.
For several reasons, we have decided not to include flight tickets:

  1. Airfares fluctuate a lot, and it would not be possible for us to keep trip prices stable.
  2. Without a fixed departure flight, we allow anyone to join our trips; sometimes we will indicate which flights we recommend (or which ones we are taking ourselves).
  3. This way, it is always possible to arrive a few days earlier and/or extend the stay without complications. If you have any questions or would like an offer for this service, do not hesitate to contact us.
